Hi, my name is Nayan and behind me is Bear, my lovely German Shepherd Dog mix whom I rehomed 3 years ago. You will have seen me and Bear walking all around the Birstall area with a majority of the community knowing Bear by name.

I have lived in Birstall for 10 years now, my family moved from the Belgrave area in Leicester. I have had a variety of jobs and am now focusing on Freelance Artwork/Designer, alongside an agency role as a warehouse operative.

I have taken a massive interest in politics and wondered how I could empower the local community to be self-sufficient instead of relying on other agencies. I think it is important to do what you can with what you have to make those small improvements in the quality of life, as well as the community at large.
